Twist the cable into a tight line again, clip the exposed speaker wire to approximately 10mm or .4 inches, then tighten the cable back into place using the binding post.

If the speaker is still not outputting any audio, then it is possible that something is wrong with the receiver’s port or the speaker itself is defective. You can easily test this by disconnecting the speaker wire from a known working port, then connecting the spare speaker wire to the known working port. Speakers have drivers that move the speakers in or out, this is how the sound is created. If a speaker is “out of phase”, it means that it is contradicting what the other sources are doing. For example, there are 5 speakers, 4 speakers move outward simultaneously and one speaker retracts inward. The speaker that retracts inward is “out of phase”.

If the auto-calibration has not done this already, raise the crossover point for the speakers. Small speakers typically cannot produce deep bass very well. It takes a big driver or speaker to produce this type of sound. So if your speaker is only capable of producing 100Hz and higher, and the crossover is set to 80Hz, then frequencies ranging from Hz may sound off. Note that the crossover point is not a “hard barrier”. The crossover is basically one speaker passing the sound to the subwoofer.

Thirdly, the device sending the sound to the AVR can also be adjusted to either send stereo or DD5.1 audio . I raise the sound level from BR, BL speekers, now it is better. If I select Dolby prologic II music, I am getting the sound from center speeker too. Dolby Pro Logic - Center channel dialogue sent to the center, LF & RF active and surround sound sent to the rear surrounds. Connected everything as suggested, everything looks okay. But, if I am on TV, hometheater CENTER SPEEKER IS NOT WORKING. If I am on DVD, only for some DVDs I am getting sound from center speeker, for some DVDs I am not. When using 2 channel sources it defaults to 2 channel stereo mode so sound only comes out of the left and right front speakers and the sub.

I am paying rent and when I put in job maintenance I shouldn’t have to go looking for maintenance or to the front office for the jobs to get taken care of. And when maintenance does show up they don’t seem to know what they have to fix and constantly asking me, they don’t look at the job tickets beforehand.
